The rise of Moisés Nieto

Spanish fashion has a solid base of creators who nurture the sector and a potential generational shift. New talents who search to find their place in the market and create their own hallmark. A revitalising style.

One of these “new talents” is Moisés Nieto (born in Jaén, 1984). He is now one of the most interesting designers of the moment, willing to inject a breath of fresh air to the current outlook. He created the brand homónima in 2011 in Madrid and specializes in feminine fashion with some solid fundamentals in its definition. A fusion of handicraft and attention to detail, with a dosis of refinement. He has multiple inspiration, from national art to young spanish culture in a sublime interpretation in sophisticated outfits that combine defiance with experience.

To speak of Moisés Nieto is to speak of a wide range of colours. To caress new fabrics with other more traditional ones that are interlaced on one same garment. Elaboration by hand and domestic production. Design, all within our frontiers.

In his curriculum, Moisés Nieto graduated in 2010 in the Istituto Europeo di Design. He has been awarded several prizes for his ability and talent. In 2010, Vogue Italy, commissioned by Valentino Group. awarded him the prize of “My Own Show”. In 2012, he won the L’Oréal Paris prize for best EGO collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid show. In 2013 he was finalist in the Mango Fashion Awards. In 2015, after several attempts, Moisés Nieto won the prize Who’s On Next 2016 organized by the renowned fashion magazine Vogue in Spain.

His renovating spirit, his organizational abilities and his steadfastness in carrying out his objectives, have been key factors for this designer from Ubeda to win this prize that has allowed him to continue his booming career.

Since 2013, the designer has been present at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid as one of the most robust designers for womens fashion. Besides this twice yearly event with Spanish fashion, Moisés Nieto works actively with other brands such as Pandora jewellry, Eastpack, Artist Studio, eBay, H&M and El Corte Inglés.

We will see what the future brings, but Moisés Nieto already took off a few years ago and is now starting to shine.
