Gratacos is past, present and also future. Often, in order to understand better in which direction we are moving, it is important to delve into our past and see the paths we took as a family business. We must refresh our memory and look back at those black and white pictures where it all started in 1940 with Antonio Gratacos and Josefina Ortiz de la Orden.
On this occasion, we want to share with you some photos from our album that portray some unforgettable moments. So we pulled out of the memory box two window displays from the 1950's, at a time when consumerism in the City was suffering as a result of the postwar. Nevertheless, Gratacos strived to seduce their customers with their beautiful fabrics, in line with the trends in colours and style of the moment.
An extensive collection that was held at their historical premises in Paseo de Gracia, 108, before it was refurbished in 1962. Lastly, but not least, the award ceremony for the commemorative plaque on Gratacos' 50th anniversary. The award, given to Josefina Ortiz de la Orden and Antonio Gratacós Pahissa at the Hotel Princesa Sofía in Barcelona, served as recognition for their work and family business in the textile industry.
Three generations later, the spirit is still alive.
